Green Lake Restaurant Openings
Several restaurants are slated to open in Green Lake this summer.
Just opened
O’Ginger, a Thai food restaurant, opened about three weeks ago in a prime takeout location, on the east side of the lake.
Coming soon
Kirkland based Lucia Italian Kitchen + Bar is opening its second restaurant, which will be housed in Green Lake Village in early July.
Owner, Michael Halter says the Green Lake location will be very similar to the Kirkland restaurant that will “offer Greenlakers somewhere to dine that has a downtown feel without leaving the comfort of their own neighborhood.” The 3,300 square-foot restaurant will also feature a 600 square-foot patio and plans to have a weekend brunch menu.
A few doors down from Lucia, Menchies will be opening (date TBD). This makes North Green Lake a soft serve hub with Zoë yogurt a few blocks away in neighboring Circa.
On the Northwest side of the lake, Bauhaus Coffee is slated to open in mid June and will serve coffee and beer and wine.
A few blocks from the lake, near Starbucks, a chain link fence has been added and a demolition crew is moving in on the old Baskin and Robbins lot. No word as to what is slated to go into that spot, but given the proximity to the lake, fingers crossed, it will be this summer when we see a new storefront/restaurant go in there.
