Spring Sips with Green Lake Wines
It’s Spring, and the grills around Green Lake are starting to emerge from a their winter hibernation. We asked Green Lake Wines Manager Jerry Pierson for a few Springtime wine suggestions, here’s what’s on his list:
2011 Domaine d’Uby Colombard-Ugni Blanc
From France’s Gascony region comes this bright, fresh, crisp and zesty white. Subtle citrus and tropical fruit notes grace the nose, and palate has a vibrant acidity, which lends it to springtime al fresco sipping.
Try it with grilled shrimp or steamed clams. $10
2010 Valle Reale Montepulciano d’Abruzzo
Robust, cherry-like flavors and moderate tannins on the finish lend this Italian red wine to grilled foods, especially red meats. Bring a bottle to your first springtime cookout! $12
