Chances are if you are walking on the northeast side of Green Lake Drive you’ll hear it before you see it — the Green Lake Wading Pool has been eliciting squeals of delight from children for nearly a century.

While seven of the city’s wading pools have been closed for the 2014 season due to budget cutbacks, Green Lake’s wading pool is slated to be in full swing all summer. The wading pool is open on sunny days when the temperature is forecasted to be 70+ degrees. On most summer days the Parks and Recreation Department fills the wading pool half full to conserve water, but on the busiest days of the summer, water is filled to the top of the pool.

The wading pool is located at 7201 E Greenlake Dr N. and is open starting June 21 from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. until September 1.
