Stuff to Do For the Summer Solstice

June 20, 2014 6:43am

It’s finally here! Summer! If you’re not taking your inaugural dip in Green Lake, here are a few other ways you can celebrate the sunshine this weekend.

The Phinney Farmers Market is officially open for the season! Go check it out at the Phinney Neighborhood Center, every Friday from 3pm-7pm until October. More details here.

After the Farmer’s Market, swing by Populuxe Brewing in Ballard for their June Family Happy Hour! Beer, food trucks and the Tumblebus? Sign us up.

It’s Fremont Fair weekend! Time for plenty of musical acts, the craft market, fabulous food and drink, and, of course, the big Solstice Parade on Saturday. Get the details here, or if you’re overwhelmed by all of the options find a few custom-made festival itineraries from the Seattle PI here. Between us? I’m pretty excited about the doggy parade.

The Bathhouse Theater is throwing a party of it’s own on Saturday. The SPT Summer Block Party promises to kick off the summer in style with food trucks, face painting, theater tours and a performance of an original play by the kids from the SPT Youth Program.
