Summer Kids Camps Around Green Lake
School is almost out, which means summer camps season is nearly here. Luckily there are lots of great options for day and week camps around the Green Lake area.
Little Explorers Camps
Ages: 3-7 years old
Where: Little Explorers School – 223 NE 65th Street
When: Weekdays June 23rd – August 22nd (closed for July 4th)
Rates-Option 1: 9:00-1:00 – $185 Weekly & $40 Daily
Rates-Option 2: 9:00-3:00 – $275 Weekly & $60 Daily
About: Little Explorers Camps include a weekly theme and incorporate art, music, songs, dance, literature, and lots of outdoor fun at Green Lake Park.
Nature Explorers Camps
Ages: 5-11 years old
Where: Ravenna Park – 5520 Ravenna Ave NE
When: Weekdays June 30th – August 29th (closed for July 4th)
Rates-Option 1: 9:00-1:00 – $185 Weekly & $40 Daily
Rates-Option 2: 9:00-3:00 – $275 Weekly & $60 Daily
About: Explore acres of trails from Ravenna Park to Cowen Park. Everyday will provide an opportunity for playing, exploring, discovering and learning, all while being active in nature.

Seattle Parks and Recreation at Green Lake Community Center
QuickStart Tennis
Ages: 7-10 years old
Where: Lower Woodland Tennis Courts
When: June 23-Aug 13 Practices are Monday’s and Wednesday’s from 6-7pm for 7-8 year olds and 7-8pm for 9-10 year olds.
Rates: $35 per player and all equipment is provided.
About: This summer program is intended for youth beginners ages 7-10 year olds. Using smaller rackets, using low pressure and foam balls, and playing on smaller courts, kids learn the game of tennis through exciting drills and fun games. Local matches against other community center teams starting in late July.

Pottery Camp
Ages: 4-7
Where: Green Lake Community Center, 7201 E Green Lake Dr N
When: Week long classes start 6/23 and go through the week of 7/28; 1-3:30 p.m.
Rates: Varies between $140 – $175
About: In this camp students will learn how to throw bowls, mugs and plates on a pottery wheel. Students will also be making animal sculptures, a coil vase, clay whistles, masks, totem poles, etc. Students will explore different surface decoration techniques such as graffito, carving, and painting with slip to finish their clay projects. Summer Youth Triathlon Camp
Ages: 8-17
Where: Green Lake Community Center, 7201 E Green Lake Dr N
When: 8/18-8/22; 9:30 a.m. – noon
Rates: $100
About: The camp is designed to introduce young athletes, ages 8-17 years old, to multi-sport training in a positive and fun environment. All athletes will be instructed on swimming strokes, cycling, running, and general fitness. Proper technique, safety, pacing, and sportsmanship are emphasized. Finish the week with an informal mini triathlon.
Requirements: Must have a bike in good working condition, swim 50 yards front crawl with side breathing without stopping, run 1/4 mile, and bike one mile.
What to bring daily: Properly fitted bike and helmet, swimsuit, towel, goggles, sunglasses, running shoes, running shorts, top, water bottle, and a nutritious snack. For more information, call (206)684-0780.
Pre-engineering With LEGOs
Ages: 5-6
