6 Halloween Events Around Green Lake

photo5945Halloween is in two short weeks, and Green Lake is hosting a variety of festive events and parties to celebrate. When we say there’s something for everyone, we truly mean it. From family-friendly pumpkin parties to corgi’s in costume, Green Lake has it all. Here’s the full lineup:

Woodland Park Zoo’s Pumpkin Bash
Where:
 Woodland Park Zoo, 5500 Phinney Ave N.
When: 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Sat. & Sun Oct. 18-19, Oct. 25-26 & 31
Price: Free with zoo admission or membership (kids in costume get in free)
About: Pumpkins for the animals, trick-or-treating, and more are in store for little goblins and ghosts at Woodland Park Zoo’s family-friendly Pumpkin Bash. See how pumpkins bring out the animals’ wild instincts as hippos chomp, elephants smash, meerkats dig and bears crunch their way through the festive treats. Activities free with zoo admission or membership. Zoomazium, the zoo’s indoor nature play space, will be transformed into a Halloween-themed Boomazium presented by Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores, where not-so-scary storytelling, costumed puppet shows, face painting (additional fee), games and more are sure to delight the kids. Pumpkin Decorating Party at Green Lake Village PCC
Where: Green Lake Village PCC, 450 NE 71st St.
When: 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday Oct. 25
Price: Free
About: Kids 12 and younger can decorate their very own pumpkin to take home! PCC will supply free pumpkins, decorating supplies and healthy snacks to stir those scary, creative juices. For more information, click here.

A Very Corgi Howloween at Green Lake
Where:
 Green Lake Park – starting at Green Lake Small Craft Center
When: 11 a.m. , Saturday Oct. 25
Price: Free
About: The annual corgi costume walk, hosted by our friends at Corgi’s R Us. Prepare yourself for the silliest and cutest walk around Green Lake of the year. Dozens of corgi’s will trot around the lake, sporting costumes of all shapes and sizes –  from a sushi roll to a piece of bacon. You don’t want to miss. Boogie Nights 5K & Dance Party
Where:
 Green Lake Park and Community Center, 7201 E Green Lake Drive N
When: 5pm-10pm, Saturday, Oct. 25
Price: $45-$60
About: Run or walk  the Green Lake Loop in costume, for the Boogie Nights 5K. Following the run, party the night away at a dance party inside Green Lake Community Center. Live DJ spinning tunes, beer from Fremont Brewery and free food. Registration fee gets you entry to the 5K,  an event t-shirt, free food, entry to the dance party and one free drink. Tacos Guaymas Annual Halloween Costume Party
Where:
 Tacos Guaymas, 6808 E. Green Lake Way N
When: 9pm on Friday, Oct. 31
Price: $45-$60
About: The Green Lake Tacos Guaymas will host their annual Halloween Costume Party. Celebrate the night with margaritas, live DJ Carlitos and $150 in prizes for best costume of the night. For more information, follow Taco Guaymas on Facebook.

Halloween Costume Party at Little Red Hen
Where:
 Little Red Hen, 7115 Woodlawn Ave. NE
When: 9pm on Friday, Oct. 31
Price: $5 cover
About: Put on your cowboy boots and dance the Halloween night away with the Marlin James Band at Little Red Hen. Enjoy festive drinks and come ready for the costume party. Anticipate a lot of Dolly Parton’s and Johnny Cash’s. For more information, click here.
