A quick update on Shelter Lounge Green Lake, the former site of the Baskin Robbins on Green Lake Drive.

Originally slated for completion by the end of 2014, the project is still an active construction site and is going to be pushed back to a 2015 opening. We recently chatted with the folks at Shelter and they anticipate opening their doors in late February or early March. According to Shelter reps, permits and weather issues caused a few of the delays.

The restaurant and bar will be similar in look and feel to its Ballard sister restaurant of the same name. The exterior has extensive wooden framing and unique architectural high beams.  Because of it’s proximity to the lake it will also have an outdoor area to enjoy the warm sunny days (when those return!).  Shelter Lounge plans on having a rotating list of local beers and extensive food menu. Stay tuned for more details.
