If you are looking to pay your respects to fallen heroes this┬áVeteran’s Day there are several events throughout the city, but the closest to Green Lake is just north off Aurora at Evergreen Washelli Memorial Park.

Veterans, their families and the public are invited to gather for a special band concert and Service of Remembrance at the 65th Annual Veterans Day service in Veterans Memorial Cemetery located on the grounds of Evergreen Washelli Memorial Park. The flag placement will begin at 7 a.m and each of the white marble upright markers in the Lower Veterans section will receive a flag.

At 10:30 a.m. music will be provided by the Eagles and Letter-Carriers Band. At 11:00 a.m., the Service of Remembrance begins and concludes with Taps and a Rifle Salute. For additional information, contact Brenda Spicer, Evergreen Washelli Memorial Park 206-362-5200.

Don’t forget that because it is a national holiday several public spaces/services will be closed including the Green Lake Community Center, Green Lake Branch Library and post office.
