The holiday season has officially launched and Green Lake has a vast array of exciting events to get you into the holiday spirit!

Looking for a fun night out and a moment of reprieve from all that holiday cheer?  Why not head over to our local Bathhouse Theater (home to SPT) where you can sit, relax, and enjoy ….(drum roll please) the WORLD PREMIERE of Wayne Rawley’s new play Christmastown: A Holiday Noir!

Think you’ve seen every holiday play in existence? Throw all preconceived notions out the door and prepare to be dazzled with this new play!

Truth be told, the theater had me when they described the play as a “sexy, sultry holiday romp through the shadowy side of Christmas (that’s why we need all those lights!).”

I’m intrigued!

The press release by the SPT provides further details: “ A newly-commissioned play from Seattle’s playwright Wayne Rawley Christmastown: A Holiday Noir is a tightly wrapped comedy packed with all the trimmings of your favorite hard-boiled detective fiction from the 1940’s noir genre. Christmastown explores the dark side of the holidays with a wry detective, a gorgeous elf, a team of gangster reindeer, and a used tree salesman(!). Directed by Gregory-award winning Kelly Kitchens (Arcadia, Slowgirl), the adult comedy features Nick Holiday (John Ulman) as the ultimate low-life private detective who gets a surprise visit from sexy elf Holly Wonderland (Amber Wolfe) that spins him on a search for the truth and meaning of Christmas. Featuring the additional talents of Rhonda J. Soikowski and Brandon Felker in multiple roles.”

Christmastown opens December 5 and runs through December 24th. Dates and times are listed on the theater’s website. http://www.seattlepublictheater.org

But, the insider scoop is that if you attend the opening afternoon performance on December 7 you have the added bonus of rubbing shoulders with the actors and director at a special reception!

See you there!
