Ahhh … it’s February, the month for showing love and gratitude to those near and dear. Does the endless swirl of crimson and hot pink heart-shaped boxes leave you feeling less than inspired on Valentine’s Day? Well, if you’re looking to up your game and score some extra points for buying local, check out Chocolati Café.

Complete disclosure: I am not chocaholic, by any means. However, this glowing endorsement comes from an extremely reliable source, a gentleman who is (trust me) the Ultimate Chocolate Connoisseur (aka my father).

Here’s my go-to list that I usually pick up for him:

Cherry Cordial: A whole cherry immersed in sweet liquid fondant in a deep dark chocolate shell. Woo-hoo! These delightful morsels carry a powerhouse cherry punch!

Cherry Burgundy: “Dark cherries were used to create this wonderfully flavored ganache. It is dipped in 63% dark chocolate, with dried cherries and a hint of sugar sprinkled on top to create an extra hard shell.” FYI: This must be many people’s favorite, as the café often runs out. The touch of delicate red sparkles make the Cherry Burgundy perfect for V-Day!

Marionberry: “Rich dark 60% dark coupled with a nuance of Oregon Marionberry puree.” Need I say more?

Grand Marnier: “Dark chocolate ganache with Grand Marnier, dusted with edible gold.” Who doesn’t love dark chocolate with just a touch of liquor?

The store is right across the street from Green Lake Park, so it’s the perfect place to thaw out and indulge after a brisk walk or run. An added bonus is the walk-up window, which makes this place is pooch-friendly!
