There’s such great brunch options in and near Green Lake, I had to write a second post to include them all. You may remember my first post from a few months ago. So here is part deux:

Vegan Highlander at Sunlight Cafe:
Where: 6403 Roosevelt Way NE
Sat-Sun 9am-2pm
Go For:
Everything on the menu, seriously. But if you want my personal favorite, the Vegan Highlander. It is a delicious scramble of sauteed organic tofu and tempeh, onions, green and red peppers, organic spinach with home fries. No brunch coma here. You will feel so good after you eat you won’t know what to do with yourself. See the full menu here.
Know Before You Go: Okay I’ll admit, this is not technically Green Lake but Roosevelt/Ravenna. But as a biased vegetarian I will tell you: this place is worth the walk or short drive.

Boozy Cheese and Syrup at Burgundian:
2253 N 56th St
Sat-Sun 10am-4pm
Go For: As Tangletown’s beer house, the Burgundian is dedicated to boozy brunch. We’ve heard great things about the Croque Madame sandwich – a ham and cheese sandwich covered in cheese beer sauce. Cheese. Beer. Sauce. Also the  Chicken and Waffles, drenched in bourbon maple syrup. Bourbon. Maple. Syrup.  See the full menu here.
Know Before You Go: Given the emphasis on the booze, you might want to leave the kids at home.

Scrambles & Omelets at The Dish:
301 NE 65th St
Sat 7am-1:45pm & Sun 8am-1:45pm
Go For: This cozy Green Lake spot serves up more than a dozen unique combinations of scrambles and omelets. Try the Tofu Delight with curry, ginger or soy sauce,  the Seattle to Portland with bacon, tomatoes, spinach and parmesan or the Hot Jack with ham, mushrooms, pepper jack and a side of salsa. See the full menu here.
Know Before You Go: Do your kids like pancakes? The Dish serves theirs in the shapes of animals and fun characters. That might help them get out of bed.

Fresh Organic Smoothies at Jodee’s Desserts:
Where: 7214 Woodlawn Ave. NE
When: Sat-Sun beginning at 11am
Go For : I wrote about Jodee’s once and I’ll do it again. If you’re looking for a less greasy-spoon option, this is the place to go. Jodee’s has a variety of organic and fresh fruit and vegetable blended smoothies. You can also customize your order with magical things like vitamineral greens, cocao nibs, hemp seeds and goji berries. See Jodee’s full menu here.
Know Before You Go: I guarantee you will leave with more than just a smoothie. Jodee’s gorgeous dessert counter of cookies, raw pies and cheesecakes will beckon you. But the best part? You can’t feel guilty. Read my other post to learn why.

Okay Greenlakers, what are we forgetting? What are your favorite neighborhood joints to get brunch?
