Hiroshima to Hope Needs Volunteers
One of the most popular Green Lake summer events is the annual From Hiroshima to Hope, a night when lanterns are illuminated and set onto the Lake in remembrance of the Hiroshima bombing victims. But the event takes a lot of volunteers and the group needs help from the community for the August 6th event – from setting up and assembling the 1,000 lanterns that will float on Green Lake to helping to collect them at the end of the night. The program is also looking for a videographer to record the program which will include singers, poetry, dance, taiko drumming and more.
If you’d like to volunteer, contact coordinators via email, fhthvolunteers@gmail.com or call 206-453-4471.
