Okay parents… we are a few weeks into summer vacation. Quick check in. How’s it going? Have we heard any “I’m boreddddddd”s yet? Well just incase, keep this guide handy.

Here’s a few cheap or free things to do to get those kiddos having a rockin’ summer vacation!

We are a bit partial to Green Lake where you can:

Swim in the two swim areas or indoor Evans Pool

Play a round of golf at the Green Lake Pitch and Putt

Splash in the wading pool

Rent a kayak, SUP or other Green Lake worthy vessel at the Green Lake Boat Rentals

Seattle Art Museum has more than a dozen events for a variety of ages. Yoga in the park. Urban Sketchbook project. Kids DIY Day. You name it.

Too hot to be out? Go to Seattle area museums for free by using your library card.

Check out one or all of the Pianos in the Park – the elaborately decorated pianos will be in parks throughout the city… but guess what, there’s one slated for Green Lake.

Get those creative juices flowing at Seattle ReCreative where you can find a variety of kids classes, camps and adult workshops.

St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church near Green Lake is offering a Vacation Bible School for children ages 4 to 11. The theme is the life of Moses which we will explore in story, song and crafts. The camp runs 9 am to 12 pm July 20-24 and the cost is $30. Scholarships are available.

And if you haven’t already, check out the Cheap Bastard’s Guide to Seattle. He’s got a great blog of things to do in the Seattle area for super duper cheap.
