Three Meetings Tonight You Should Know About

September 30, 2015 7:38am

This just in… tonight will be a busy night for politics and conversations about potential development that could affect Green Lake. Three meetings are slated within a few hours of each other and involve the upcoming City Council race and HALA (Housing Affordability and Livability).

At 5:30 p.m. there is a special public hearing on HALA at City Council Chambers at City Hall, chaired by Mike O’Brien. You may remember several weeks ago Mayor Murray decided not to proceed with proposed changes to single family zoning. Mike O’Brien has recently decided to put that proposal back on the table.

Then at 7:00 p.m. proponents of the HALA are hosting a meeting to hear community members’ input at Green Lake United Methodist Church at 6415 1st Ave North.

Get those running shoes on because half an hour later Mike O’Brien and Catherine Weatbrook will have a candidate forum/debate at Phinney Neighborhood Association starting at 7:30 p.m. Please note that you have to have advanced registration and that doors open for this event at 6:30 p.m. This forum will be televised.
