Using the Seattle Police Non-Emergency Line
Just a little friendly Green Lake PSA.
Have you ever used the Seattle Police Non-emergency line? That number has come in handy for me several times when we’ve had some odd suscpicous activity near our house, noisy folks at 3 a.m. etc. The non-emergency line is great EXCEPT it takes about 5 minutes to get through all the prompts until you finally get someone on the line.
So, if you need to talk to someone for a non-emergency for something like the items listed above, here’s your cheat sheet. You dial the Seattle Police non emergency number: 206-625-5011 then dial 2 and then dial 8. You have to wait a moment in between dialing those last two numbers but it could save you a few minutes. I saved this into my phone with a note on those two numbers to help save me some time.

- You want to report a nuisance, such as a noise or parking complaint.
- To report a non-emergency crime – one that did not just occur, and the suspects are not in the immediate area.
- You have questions about something suspicious occurring in your neighborhood, and you are not sure it is criminal activity.
