Two New Books Feature Green Lake

May 10, 2017 12:15pm

Two new books feature Green Lake from local publisher Sasquatch Books.

Take A Walk: Seattle by Sue Muller Hacking features Green Lake as one of 120 walks in Seattle, Everett, Tacoma and Olympia. While the Green Lake Park section may not few surprises for Greenlakers I learned from this book that Green Lake Park is 324 acres.

The book also contains other nearby walks that you should add to your list for the summer such as nearly two dozen Seattle area hikes for birdwatchers, art lovers, beachcombers, history buffs and more.

“What glorious freedom, if only for an hour or two, to step from the car and immerse oneself in the gentle pace of foot travel.” – Sue Muller Hacking

Seattle Family Adventures by Kate Calamusa

This book focuses on itineraries for day or weekend trips to Seattle area destinations. Green Lake takes up a large part of this book, from the Green Lake path and Pitch and Putt, Boathouse to local restaurants like Rosita’s, PCC Natural Markets, Perche No Pasta & Vino and more.

It’s books like these that make you realize how lucky we are to live here. I plan on sharing these with guests who stay with us and want to explore Green Lake or Seattle.

“This guide introduces you to the Emerald City with a kid’s viewpoint in mind–and what a wild, wacky and whimsical perspective that is.” – Kate Calamusa

Disclosure: Seattle Greenlaker received copies of the books to review for this post.
