Two New Restaurants Moving Into Green Lake
Remember those mysterious photos of Mexican dishes on the outside of the former Mio Sushi in North Green Lake? After Mio Sushi shuttered a few weeks ago several photos of Mexican dishes appeared on the windows without any sign, menu or information about the future restaurant. While the restaurant name has remained secret, we got a tip from a Greenlaker who said she spoke to people working in the new space that said the restaurant is going to be La Cocina Oaxaqueña, a restaurant that focuses on Southern Mexican food. The tipster also said it could open as soon as June. We reached out to the restaurant to confirm but did not get a response. We will keep you posted if we hear more.
Meanwhile, Eater Seattle reports that on the other side of the lake, in the former Butcher and Baker Space (6412 Latona), Frelard Tamales is moving in. Slated to open this Fall, the Green Lake location would be the first sit down location for Frelard Tamales, which was previously only been available in area farmers markets.
